    Presents:

What the heck is new with Blogbat's site?!?

    Starring

    Well, duhhhhh!

Today Blogbat announces some big site renovations he elected to undertake while riding on his large-windowed orange bus of limited length and seating. These changes are mostly to make this blog more friendly to non-Xanga users, e.g. most of my readers. Presently, some Mozilla users may find some aspects askew, but this will change after I have a moment to tackle that. When Blogbat is finished, he plans to glue printed screen shots of it all over the underground tunnels in Paris just to show it off...and irritate them with gratuitous volumes of English, which of course is for them far more an irritation than that certain odor in the tunnel anyone familiar with Paris knows...

    Some changes include the following:

    1. A spot for non-Xanga links

    2. A way non-Xanga users can post comments to my writings without having to bow to the Xanga idol.

    Here's how:

After typing your comments, it will prompt you to sign-in. When it does this, simply enter the following name and PW:

    Name: blogbatsvisitor

    Pass: password

DON'T FORGET - add your homepage URL and your name when you make your comments if you

would like for us to know their author.

Note: Any changes to this policy will be announced on this page.

Stay tuned for next time and our next installment of, "What the heck is new with blogbat's site?!?"

"In the course of reviewing over several days thousands of pages of documents on behalf of the Clinton administration in connection with requests by the Sept. 11 commission, I inadvertently took a few documents from the Archives," Berger said.

"When I was informed by the Archives that there were documents missing, I immediately returned everything I had except for a few documents that I apparently had accidentally discarded," he said.

Report: Israel's 'First Strike' Plan Against Iran Ready

-Israel’s Jerusalem Post reports, citing what government sources told the Times of London Sunday. "If the worst comes to the worst and international efforts fail," the source was also quoted as saying, "we are very confident we'll be able to demolish the ayatollahs' nuclear aspirations in one go." Israel is said to have the best trained and most capable air force in the world and it is even agreed upon by many to be better than their more modern American ally (which recently suffered an upset in war games with an Indian air force that used vastly outdated versions of the F-15 during the excercises).

Blogbat will be posting a blog in the near future about his long-held belief that Iran and some former Soviet states have been helping out our good friends Al Qaeda in what Blogbat calls the Al Qaeda Triangle.

Not that they are neccesarily friendly to Russia either. But we’ll get more into that in the coming days.

This will be especially of interest now that revelations of Iran and 911 have finally been unearthed which includ(ed) Al Qaeda using Iran as a passage (they say illegally…and I have a bridge in Brooklyn).

"Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Sieg Heil-ité..." Part Deux

Sharon says, "get out of Le Dodge"

This is basically an update to a story about French anti-Semitism I wrote a few days ago. Today Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon advised Jewish families still living in the spiraling European state to make aliyah (or homecoming) to Israel as soon as possible. Citing the rapid expansion of hate crimes in the French nation known for lecturing the United States on moral matters great and small, Sharon said “About France, on one hand we see the spread of the wildest anti-Semitism there”, according to a BBC article first cited by the Drudge Report today.

Israel is known to have one of the best intelligence-gathering forces in the world. The Massad is credited with helping the Israeli army win its early wars and many also think it was one of the main intelligence-gathering forces for the U.S. in both Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. It has also been cited in recent months for having discovered what it says are positive and independently verifiable WMD’s in the Desert just inside the Syrian Border. The WMD’s, they say, were smuggled in under cover of darkness by Saddam loyalists and Syrians and buried to hide their existence. Some U.S. government experts have come out to concur with the findings, however officially the State Department has been mum (in addition, when asked about the WMD's, White House National Security Advisor, Dr. Condoleeza Rice refused to add anything to the record). However, one should ask what might the Massad know about France that we have not yet found out. Sure it could be political, but my hunch is they have something verifiable here. But then again, maybe it’s just common sense.

Paris responded almost immediately and predictably by calling Sharon’s decision to make the statement, “unacceptable”. What is not clear is whether the nearly 100% increase (according to the most recent statistics, which were quoted by a BBC article) in crimes against the French Jewish population received an equally visceral reaction from French President Jacques Chirac’s government.

The newest figures pointed out by the BBC are as follow:

“The latest French government figures show 510 anti-Jewish acts or threats in the first six months of 2004 - compared to 593 for all of last year.”

Meanwhile, French media has chosen to show only interviews with French Jews who oppose Sharon, but I’m more than certain given a few days, that spin on the truth will come to its end.

Sharon is right to say what he did. If France won’t take the problem seriously, then every Jewish man, woman and child there is at serious risk. There is too much at stake as the Islamofascists and NAZI sympathizers continue to gain ground in that country and I think it is only waiting to become yet another European Hell-hole. If they allowed civilians to own guns, maybe it would be different, but being unarmed in a country where you know the criminals who want to get you are armed and will likely avoid prosecution are bad odds.

Even the exodus to Israel from North America is back up to the tune of 20% this year, after a slight drop seen the period before. The information was unclear whether it was mostly from The US or from Canada, which has also seen a sharp rise in anti-Semitic violence in the past few years.

But, Chirac’s own government is especially well-known for its shades of anti-Semitism. One only needs to recall the now-infamous statement made by former French Prime Minister Raymond Barre , who when commenting on a spat of anti-Jewish crime in 1980 said that the government needed to deal with the problem in order to protect “both Frenchmen AND Jews”. The statement to many smacked of Hitler’s notion of “Deutschen und Juden.” That was of course just another quip made by French leadership. Daniel Bernard, the French ambassador to England also used an expletive to discribe what he called a "little nation". Though outraged british statesmen condemned the statements remarking that the “remarks were ‘eerily familiar from the French’", the French government "stood by Mr. Bernard, dismissing the charges of anti-Semitism as 'malevolent insinuations'", according to one BBC article. And of course most recently Chirac again seperated all men from Frenchmen by saying, "we are witnessing racial events involving our Jewish and Muslim compatriots. ... Sometimes just simple Frenchmen are attacked," Martin Peretz of the New Republic, said.

Response to the statements of Mr. Bernard by former New York Mayor, Ed Koch came in an article in which he said the French would do well to remember some perspective before leaning any further in the direction of anti-Semitism,

"The response by Benjamin Disraeli, prime minister of Britain during the reign of Queen Victoria, to an anti-Semite seems particularly appropriate, "Yes, I am a Jew, and when the ancestors of the right honorable gentleman were brutal savages in an unknown island, mine were priests in the temple of Solomon."

And we should remember that the Francs were not even yet marauders bent on conquering a Roman Empire which did not even yet exist. Bernard of course died in April of this year.

Sharon, a fairly moderate political figure in Israel and by no means a Netanyahu (whom Blogbat personally favors) inserted dire urgency to his statements when he added that it was “a must…”. And how long should they wait to make their exit? Sharon continued, “…and they have to move immediately.”

    UPDATE

    17. July 15:13

Michelle Malkin just posted a link about this group in her blog that I think offers some good background on the Ruckus which can be found here.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Terrorists, Traitors and Tea Toddlers

Recently the Canadian Free Press published a report connecting Teresa Heinz-Kerry to the violent and anti-American group of anarchists named the Ruckus. Sure groups like this aid terrorists and common criminals, but ironically, these anarchists have no problem with having their anti-capitalistic rants sponsored and controlled by a billionaire. Shadowing the Bin Laden model as mere pawns of their wealthy leaders ( this time the sheep of a corporate conglomerate and the Democrat party), they literally betray themselves. Sure they think they are using Heinz, but at the end of the day it all depends on who's in control of the movement.

And what would Leftwing groups like PETA and Greenpeace say about the treatment of animals by the likes of Ruckus? Well, astoundingly, absolutely nothing! The Ruckus is proud of pouring marbles under police horses’ hooves on concrete or shooting them with slingshots (which often carry the same velocity and terminal risk as any bullet). As a trooper with the mounted patrol back in my college days, I can tell you that 1500 pound horses and concrete or asphalt do not mix. Despite their size and majesty, they are fragile animals. Slipping and falling on such a surface (or even on softer ones) often ends up being fatal.

This year, the Ruckus plans to do their best to disrupt the Republican convention in New York. As usual, they plan to use every means necessary to do it. Their main goal is to distract as much Law Enforcement as possible. Why? Well this leaves the convention vulnerable. To what, you ask? Anything. Fill in the blanks.

    In her column, Judi says,

“With the money of Mrs. John Kerry, Ruckus Society members live up to their name of being ready to create a ruckus anywhere, but they’re bound to be more careful in New York than they were in Seattle. And it’s not because they are afraid of The Terminator who’s scheduled to give one of the GOP’ keynote addresses. It’s because they don’t want their rioting, looting, sit-ins and blockades to leave the impression that the Dems and their gaggle of Hollywood supporters are the bad guys. It’s the Johnny America shout mimicking Paul Revere: ‘The Republicans are coming! The Republicans are coming!’ that they want to stick in the public mind.”

    Later she continues,

“Rhetoric aside, with tactics like dog decoys intended to deliberately miscue bomb sniffing dogs in their bag of dirty tricks, tossing marbles under the hooves of police horses and using homemade slingshots to pelt the noble beasts, radical protesters should be prepared to wear the unreasonable shoe that best fits them.

While some 600,000 passengers travel to Penn Station on regular working days, protesters are hoping that their handiwork will see the necessity of having to evacuate Madison Square Garden.

All lessons being taught to willing protestors at the Ruckus knee are ones to make it less easy for the New York Police Department to maintain public safety.”

Just like the terrorists around the world who operate as pawns of their greedy and ideologically non-adherent Jim Jones figures, so too this group sells its soul for a cause even its leaders mostly don’t believe in so that the leaders can fulfill the true cause they’re after. While they both are looking to spawn revolt, the latter is never an ideologue, always a power monger.

We should all be frightened about what this could possibly do to our electoral process, but we should be all the more alarmed by the direct involvement by a major political party in aiding this endeavor. After all, what do you think will happen to the Democrat party (and America) if it is linked to the mass murder of its political opposition right before an election. It is sedition in its heighest form, my friends, and there is therefore hardly any doubt that very word will be on the tongues of at least 160 million Americans if Teresa Heinz-Kerry's pet snake has its way.

Though they think they do, the Democrats really don’t want to touch this. Nobody wants to touch this. To even want to go there tells me you are a traitor and a terrorist and an enemy of the people and Constitution of America. This is a cookbook for civil war and just what our enemies around the world want to see.

Of course I have to wonder, what would Leftwing "human rights" groups have to say about a terrorist attack (and the aftermath) brought on by these anarchists and their corporate and partisan friendlies? Most likely, absolutely nothing.

Below are some pictures courtesy of NoJohnKerry.org, taken at a "Global Day of Action" rally in San Francisco on Saturday, 20 March, 2004. I bet it will most likely be a foretaste of what the goosesteppers will have to tell the world (verbally, at least) as they protest on Convention Day in New York.

The "cover-up" referred to in the sign of course being the one

“F” Is For France AND Faint of Heart…Or Is It?

Fox News says there have now been 135 violent crimes of anti-Semitism in France so far this year, according to a report on Fox News Sunday today. And the trend looks to only continue as Synagogues burn, graves are desecrated and French Jewish men are beaten on the streets and forced to dress incognito in their own country.

And now, even more shocking to those yet civilized, mothers and infants are assaulted, robbed and humiliated simply because they were from a typically Jewish part of town.

The first quarter of 2004 alone saw a 60% increase in acts of anti-Semitism throughout France, according to France’s own Interior Ministry. At the time of the report, the total for the year was 67 such crimes. This in just the first three months of 2004 while French apathy and complicity seem to be equally on the rise. One must look back nearly ten years to see any massive French outrage- and arguably even further to find them visibly proactive in really about anything outside of being anti-Semitic.

Flag of France, more than a joke: Ensigns of the King's vessels “ White ensign”, flew in the French Navy c. 1700 and  labeled 'Franse Witte Vlag'

But if you think a good idea might be to immigrate to Canada and make the moose your snugglebunny, think again. The Daily (of Canada) reports that according to a “pilot survey” of hate crime conducted by “twelve major Canadian police forces” between 2001 and 2002, 928 hate crimes occurred during that period, of which a resounding 25% of which were anti-Semitic in nature. This also represented the largest single block of hate crimes committed, beating the next minority group by 8% during that time. Particularly troubling considering Canada’s relatively smaller population than many Western countries.

Meanwhile the French Jewish community in a sarcastically macabre tone recently stated, "the French only have pity on dead Jews" according to a report cited below. One amusingly might suppose this is how the French have made themselves feel better than the Germans of yore.

In comparison, FBI statistics of anti-Semitic crimes in the US indicate that, although the actual FBI number is high (some 928 incidents in 2002), culturally this is not as provocative as elsewhere since it translates into roughly only .003 per cent of the total US population. Additionally, American sentiment against anti-Semitism and in support of Israel is poll after poll shown to be higher than in France. While the FBI report does show Americans do have some work to do too and that anti-Semitism is an international problem it remains clear that the US is still far from France or Canada-- nor is it the Middle East by any stretch.

(Also just a side note of something I ran across while looking this up that people of all faiths should find interesting: of curious note from these statistics was that hate crimes against Americans of all faiths combined totaled about 1,432 in 2002. Hate crimes against Atheists: 3. Not that I am saying France’s obsession with intolerance in the guise of  “secularism” is in any way related here. I’m sure that statistic is far different in France…or is it?

Certainly we cannot discount the Islamic religious zealotry among many, but neither can we ignore the strange bedfellows it seems to have found historically in militant agnosticism, paganism-- as we see in NAZIsm, or Stalinism-- also powerful and dangerous anti-Semitic forces and all forms of militant secularism.)

France Admits Anti-Semitism on The Rise After Graves Desecrated

Haaretz, an Israeli publication in an article about the recent desecration of a Jewish graveyard in France (cited below) says, “Dalil Bubakr, president of the French Muslim organization described the act as ‘barbaric and stupid,’ and noted that several mosques in the area were also recently desecrated.”

"’Acts such as these suggest complete ignorance, blindness and fanaticism,’ he said in a statement expressing his support and solidarity with the Jewish community.”

Ramadan, 39, is not only an outstanding Muslim intellectual but also the grandson of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Hassan Al-Bana, who was murdered in his own country in 1949. He firmly condemns the anti-Semitic incidents that took place during the past year in France, Belgium and other European countries, such as attacks on synagogues and Jewish institutions. ’Too few Muslims have spoken out against these anti-Semitic and Judeophobic phenomena,’ he says.”

    Jihad Against Anti-Semitism?

"My Fellow Muslims, We Must Fight Anti-Semitism"

Some courageous Muslim intellectuals are taking a stand against anti-Semitism. While an honest person must assess they do have their work cut out for them in their world, it still gives one pause to think of a better day perhaps. And maybe one day even the French will have their intellectuals to do the same…

Gang Attacks Mother on Paris Train

AFP gives further detail of this shocking attack

FRENCH MOTHER, BABY ATTACKED IN PARIS COMMUTER TRAIN

VERSAILLES, France, July 10 (AFP) - A young woman and her baby were attacked in a (crowded and placid) suburban train near Paris Saturday by unidentified men who drew swastikas on her stomach with a pen in what police said was an anti-Semitic assault.

The six attackers who were armed with knives clipped the 23-year-old woman's hair (reportedly to keep as a prize of their sick conquest), and cut her tee-shirt and pants before drawing three swastikas on her body.

The men of North African origin also overturned the pram (baby carriage) with her baby of 13 months.

In the attack they robbed her backpack which contained her identity papers, a bank card and 200 euros (250 dollars).

Police said the attackers erroneously assumed the woman was Jewish because she was living in Paris' posh 16th district.

"Only Jews live in the 16th district," one of the men was quoted as having said.

French President Jacques Chirac expressed his horror and condemned what he called "a shameful attack" (Jacques, of course would have done it differently, we suppose).

The perpetrators must be found, held accountable and condemned with the full severity of the law, a statement issued by his office said (with all the severity we’ve seen thus far from the French government, that is).

Interior Minister Dominique de Villepin asked police to find the attackers within the shortest possible time, (say two or three months, a few years, it is all the same to us so long as we say pretty words, which we the French, are known for. In fact the only time we keep it short is when we surrender) his ministry said in a statement.

The attack was "all the more serious because it was marked by racism and anti-Semitism," he said (and our French UN ambassador thinks it is, how do you say,  seriously gnarly, dudes).

    (Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Sieg Heil-ité...)

(Denotes Blogbat editorializations, quips and other remarks generated for the benefit of accuracy on behalf of the reader)

Original report can be found here

    Worldwide Anti-Semitism

And what does France (and the UN) think about the Jewish people defending themselves? Well, just take a look at their attitudes on the Israeli security fence that has reduced the number of terrorists blowing themselves and Jewish women and babies to pieces to but a tiny fraction of what it once was. France seems to prefer an unfair fight, doesn't it?

In a recent worldcourt ruling (if you think it has any value) Israel was told that her right to build a security fence to protect herself from invasion much the same way the French built the Maginot Line, built to defend against the Germans, was illegitimate. Though the French Line was arguably ineffective, it was still recognized within their right to build it. I don’t think the UN is in the business of advising countries on strategy. Besides that, when has a military strategy employed by the French worked (to their advantage) in the past two centuries?

But one need only look at who makes up two thirds of the worldcourt to see exactly how any such case is going to turn out ahead of time: Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Jordan, Madagascar, the Netherlands, Russia, Sierra Leone, and Venezuela. As you can plainly see, it’s just another roundup of the usual suspects.

This is a worldwide problem, not only one that is French, which must be addressed. Whether it be religious intolerance and the burning down of religious buildings, kidnappings, rapes, tortures, beatings and murdering of members of other ethnic and religious groups in China, or similar atrocities in her close ally France or the ones wantonly commited by puppet radicals in the Middle East, we need to seriously deal with it before we have stories to tell like those of our grandparents.

I can scarcely think of things more troubling than a story right out of the 1930’s as a woman with a baby is assaulted on a crowded subway because she is thought to be Jewish, while not a soul comes to her aid. The worst part is that such things are now being permitted or committed by combined acts of aggression and attrition in, by and through such countries. The real tragedy is that after all those lost lives of men who fought valiantly in war, and especially in the shadow of the glories of Normandy, such a thing as this can happen as recently as yesterday-- and in a place like France.

If a government thinks it has a friend in France, I must say it is likely either Palestinian or Chinese, even though we cannot forget the role that many other nations around the world have played.

Because of this and all the more as we hear stories such as the one above, it becomes a problem in the world body which needs to be faced and dealt with sternly and decisively, as well as without tarry, lest the brutality think it has a right to spread.

Under Secretary Refuses to Comment on Border Security

U.S. Under Secretary for Border & Transportation Security, Asa Hutchinson was unable to provide data supporting his claim of ongoing operations to protect the American border today in an interview with a Los Angeles radio station.

Hutchison has been accused by KFI AM personalities John and Ken of the John and Ken Show of ordering the border patrol to stand down its operations.

During the interview Hutchison claimed he could not give out any information about ongoing operations because it would compromise their secrecy, however, he was also unable to give out any statistical information that would support his claim that the operations were not only ongoing, but had been.

When asked during the show to provide that evidence or any data to support his claims, Hutchison responded, “We’re going to continue the border operations….”

Hutchison also accused the personalities of being demagogues on the issue while the show continued to accuse Hutchison of avoiding the question and also stated that the data the show has found provides no evidence of enforcement via arrests, fines or roundups, and voiced that the people in the KFI listening area consider the notion of any such currently active operation to take action against the growing problem of illegal immigration a “joke”.

There are currently several million illegal aliens residing in the United Statesy, many of whom are said to pay no more than about $25 a year in taxes each, while consuming billions in healthcare, education and also sending billions more back to relatives in their countries, which has incited much controversy particularly in the nations most populous state, California.

While the largest percentage of illegal immigrants are Mexican, many also immigrate illegally from Canada and all parts of South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, the Caribbean and Pacific islands every year, some of which are political dissidents who later claim asylum.

Illegal immigrants, while politically supported by various political action groups and candidates as a sure hot-button item, are often unpopular even among those who have immigrated to the U.S. legally and have been naturalized.

Stating among their concerns is the fear their communities will become too much like the country they chose to leave for a better life. In the case of Americans of Mexican decent, they accuse their former government of using the people crossing the border illegally as a political pawn for “reconquista” or the effort to return the Southwest United States to Mexico – and they cite some extremist groups who openly support such a policy, as well as known instances of the local consulate actually inciting street demonstrations with activists among those living here illegally.

Many naturalized and second-generation Americans have also stated a general resentment towards the illegals because those naturalized must jump through several hoops in some cases in order to be allowed to live here. As is the case even for those simply seeking a temporary visa. And once here they complain that by contrast they must pay their own tuition, bills, taxes and so forth.

Some human rights supporters claim that illegal immigrants are often taken advantage of because of their status. Though they can easily skirt the law, get free healthcare and education without identification, a paper trail or any of the constraints an average person must daily endure, this can also (and often does) cut both ways. Many times these unsuspecting families and individuals can be abused by unscrupulous employers, businesses and acquaintances, treated as virtual slaves, loathed by their communities and sometimes disappearing as victims of crime with no one to even notice.

Blogbat will have more on this topic at a later point. Without a doubt however, it is a heart-wrenching topic from any angle, no matter your perspective.
