  • Your .wav is taking forever to dload on a DSL connection, or at least it is this morning, btw.

I don’t get the big fear about the commandments monument. If you’re atheist, why do you care what it’s about? It’s just a piece of art. It’s not the actual damn tablet Moses brought down off the mountain. It’s just a sculpture somebody did. Who cares where it’s situation. How does that offend anyone? Don’t get it at all.

  • I nuked that .wav ditty for now. Thanks for the heads’ up, Freeky :D

  • I hope that Harrison Ford’s vast trove of American Dollars quickly becomes worthless upon his return to the states.

  • On the porn story… all I can say is YIKES!!

  • All I can say is it has been up there along with digging for dung beattles. Humans:  :loony:

  • ashcroft is too damned busy trying to secure our freedom from the king of england to bother with any of that soviet union/russia crap!

hey, thanks for visitin’ my site. i appreciate ya!

  • i must say, i commend you for your website, it’s quite nice. i don’t really know how i stumbled upon it, and i’m not sure if i will again becuase i already forgot how i stumbled upon it.hmm. quite a confusing statement. yes! i am 48% geek! nerds are quite excellent too. everyone should have their share of everyone, if that makes any sense. you know, i’d like to find out more about the patriot act. do you have any idea about that? also, do you really speak multiple languages fluently? if so, which? anwyay, i’m starving and i’ve had seven pieces of cinnamon gum so i think i’m going to have to go eat. quite nice site!

     :weirdo:

  • I never got the whole Hullaballoo over the Ten Commandments, either.  It’s like we say when we get complaints in the library about having books on spells and witch craft.  If you don’t want to read it, don’t check it out.  *sigh*

Course, I can’t understand how the fanatics scream that taking down the tablets means the government is trying to take away your religion.  Um, your faith is your own, and no one can take it from you unless you want them to.  Go figure, you can’t make everyone happy.

As for Mikey, I intend to do a blog on him soon, maybe tonight, because i’m in one of those moods.  But he’s a 16.3 thoroughbred gelding.

  • Bush’s ‘Axis of Evil’ is more like Wheel of Fortune meets Hollywood Squares.

  • Damnit!  you made me cry when I read about what happened to Chevy.  *sniffle*

The best horses and best relationships with horses are always when the horse picks you, instead of the other way around.  I even have a little Thelwell statue of a pony and girl hugging that’s entitled “He’ll Choose You.”  I should find it sometime.

You’re right, I will keep Mikey, and nothing will change my mind!  Thank you.  ^^

  • I am overwhelmed.  Your ability to blog more often than me is delicious.  I thought I had a lot to say.  Honey-mustard ice cream?  Ehhh…I think I will be off of ice cream for a time now. ha.  So true what you say about internet security.  I like this guy. :stickdance:  Ok, I am sleep deprived.  Will return tomorrow to  comsume the words I could not retain in my insomniatic state.  Peace.

  • oh, the commandments monument.  Would it make more sense if there was a plaque stating that the laws you must obey are developed from the oral traditions of the judaic peoples concerning their enslavement(at their god’s behest) in Egypt?  So our laws are not from the officials that we have agreed to let rule us, but from a specific religion’s decree?  I thought the constitution was to protect me from that.  Did you know that Christ condemns divorce, abortion, gambling, and usery?  If we are going to bow to one religion’s edicts why don’t we just have a state religion?  What do you mean that’s not fair?

  • Unfortunately, Mag, (and this isn’t anything personal, so just take it as it is) you were not properly educated in American history if that is your interpretation. Naturally, you have a right to whichever belief you choose to hold, however our Constitution was in fact based on that Judaic law, in addition to other documents such as the English Magna Carta, which also was based on that old Judaic law with which you seem to have so many qualms. Personally, I prefer that law to say, Roman law and the law of any pagan culture where anarchy or tyranny (and misery as the birthchild of self-seeking automatons who only abuse others) rules.

Its unfortunate that you have the opinions you do, but please…find another country better suited to yours such as say, China or North Korea in which to live. Oh yeah, their living standard is lousy, but I guess that’s what happens in cultures built on the values you seem here to charish.

  •    Hi! That duck is adroable, if I was single and you were walking a duck, I’d let you pick me up.

  • hey, thanks for dropping by my blog…my those emoticons look familiar (tenacity?)

you know, while everyone is foaming at the mouth about the 10 commandment thing, why is no one upset or even saying a word about Themis, the Roman godess chick with the blindfold and the sword and scales…kinda kinky no?

well, feel free to drop in anytime.

  • Who me?? Hand out emoticons??? Neeevvveerrr.

(He cleaned his version up though… lol… it’s not nearly as offensive as mine!!)

  • 15 Things brought them over to you

  • LOL I might have elderly people, children or even clergy visiting this blog…okay, nevermind, they already know I’m full of it  :frown: …lol

  • p.s., Mishlei, looks like an interesting article, will czech it out

  • love the story about the Japanese lady, I remember hearing last year that she slept through her birthday

“Researchers continue to look for explanations, from the gene pool to diet. Mrs Hongo favours green tea, herb wine and sugar candy.”

    sounds good to me!

  • why the binary background?  :bigbounce: :stickdance:  :innocent:   :snicker: :frown: :worried: :eyeroll:      THESE EMOTICONS ARE SO COOL! and i promise not be so excessive anymore.  :smack!: :waaahh:

  • LOL, the emoticons come via the great computer guru, tenacity, who will prolly share em if ya wan’em. Its easy to do.

The binery background…well, it looked cool and original. Im thinking about changing it to “blogbat”‘s instead of 010101′s but then ill have to change my banner too…so its not at the top of things to do right now.

  • Hum…what is at the top of things to do right now?  I think it all works pretty well, BB.  ;)   Maybe I missed it, but what did you name the duck?

The 10 Commandments – if everyone lived by the simple rule of doing unto others as they would want done to them, then all laws, commandments, and general bs would not be necessary.  I think it is easier for people to bitch about Jesus or Satan or laws or bad/good cops than it is for them to try to make a real difference in the world.

    take care…

  • KnoxvilleGirl… that’s great in theory… but the fact is that there are people born into nature with certain types of disorders/psychosis/etc. which cause them to desire being treated in a manner you or I might not wish to be treated in. ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’ only works if said acts of ‘doing’ remain constant… not relative. Unfortunately… every act, every person, every era… are relative.

Not saying I agree with nor back our current judicial system… but at any given time, in any given era, laws and expectations are going to vary… depending upon religious influence and current societal morality and ideals (and in this day and age, I hate to have include… influence and greed based need of multi-billion dollar companies).

I know our country was supposed to be founded on the idea that everyone was created equal… but 227 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this country is a LONG way from treating everyone from every culture with the same amount of dignity and respect. As much as I hate to say it… an anarchical society will never be more than a dream of the peoples… and I certainly do not foresee Utopia anytime in our foreseeable future.

  • Anarchy? Not my dream…now Ardvarky…that has a different ring to it

The Golden rule does not apply to those who are not capable of understanding it and as such, still stands. Relativism is non-existant. We are all absolutists, regardless of our leanings…and without regard to whether we are closet-absolutists or rather of the shameless public acts of absolutism crowd. Now, to disprove me, you have no choice but to admit I am right, which of course proves instead that I am right. However, to contend that I’m wrong, you take an absolutist stance and thus kick the foundation out from under your contention.

As I mentioned in Mishlei’s blog to V, moral relativism only exists when a couple in Arkansas finally ties the knott. (I think I will make it one of my infamous philisophical notes for the day  )

  • Ahhh… but I am always open to new input and ideas… and am fascinated by the ideals and viewpoints of other people and cultures. Just because I am right (in my current state of relative time, culture, place in society)… does not mean you are wrong in yours.

(If the universe is not infinite, what happens whan you come to the end? And does this make the spacial state of the universe absolutely not absolute???)

  • Actually, that is where yours and my philosophies seem to converge. In ecclesiastes one of the wisest men ever pointed out that there is a season for everything; a time and a place. It then lists all of the extremes of human behavior and notes that at the appropriate time, each one of those has a place. As one who understands this, I see that the absolutes have never been shaken, but it is those absolutes which govern wisely actions based on circumstance and not circumstances based on action. If one were to simply guage a person’s choice of actions without their context, it would be a safe assumption they were a relativist, however in light of context you see the true meaning of those actions. What was the intent or the context. To say for example that society X puts more juvies in jail than society Y does indeed point to change, if society X used to more like society Y. However, what really matters is why. And why ask why unless we are trying to collect suffician information to formulate our opinions of the change based on our absolute value structure. And it is an important question which might elicit two different responses. Are more being jailed because more are commiting crimes or, as we saw Hitler do with Jews and others in the Nazi era, are they simply being jailed because they are kids. (Certainly if it were the latter, most of us, based on our value system would be outraged and not simply accept it as how things just are) So our responses would either be support of the new trend or opposition to it. Indeed the era is different, the players are different and the details are different for society X than they were, but the over-riding principles (if the society is healthy) will remain the same.  :bigbounce:

  • Blogbat dear… that has GOT to be one of the most far-fetched arguments I have ever heard for absolutism… lol.

     :nanana:

Grin… this is obviously one of those conversations that is best saved for in person. We need to get me, you, freeks and Braddock together one of these and have a couple of these conversations out.

Oh wait… ugghh… I am the only liberal in that little group. Why oh WHY do I seem to be drawn to conservatives on here????  :frustrated:

  • Why ask why?  :nanana: LOL well, im going to declare jihad over the matter, and you have way more incommon with Freeky, Braddock and me than not. You and Freeky love your kids, Braddock loves his Grampa, V loves his computer (actually, im not sure if V has offspring or not, so “computer” will have to do, that is unless he has a girlfriend, in which case, hed better put her somewhat in front of his computer on that list–at least when answering her questions about the matter) and I love my dog ( would have a girlfriend, but it makes life complicated—though they sure to smell good  :frustrated:). Freeky would have to bring her hubby so he can see what kinds of weirdos she hangs out with at Xanga, too. I’ll bring the uno, lol.

  • waddabout MEEEEEEEEEEEEE?!?!?!  :bigbounce:

  • I tot you were in NC, Mish   But if yall wanna drive, heck git yerselves on ovah. Ten just has to euthanize the fatted calf, of course…er lamb, I mean. lol

And appearently Braddock does indeed have offspring, per an earlier comment of mine

And If I ommited any other cool peeps, such as knox or esther (but I think she is way far away) then I blame my alzeimers. No, I blame Tenacity’s alzeimers…she is a year and 25 days older than me

  • Har har  (freakin’ Libras!)  :smack!:

Marnie, dear, you KNOW you would never be forgotten!! I was simply suggesting we Nashville locals get together to hash out these conversations (so I can prove to them I’m right, of course!! lol).

     :smooch:

  • er, she means Left, Marnie

  • Smart behiney

     :hammer:

Left, maybe… but still not an extremist.

    *snicker*

  • No, not an extremist…but I bet you played a lot of donkey kong when you were a kid, didn’t you?  :nanana:

  • Actually… I never cared for donkey kong.

Miss PacMan and Frogger were fun though!

  • Did you ever see the Seinfeld where they were trying to bring home a Frogger game, but they had to cross several lanes of traffic with it first. It was hillarious.

  • Wow… Clinton-Clark… I’ve got cold chills!! A woman running for office in my own life-time… a woman with a real shot at coming close to winning, if not actually doing it!!! Ok… I’m past cold chills… I’m in tears.

Screw what anyone says about her backing out of her term in NYC… I say she should go for it… while she’s still young enough to do it with style!!

    Whoa. *shivers*

(Ok… go ahead and attack me now… lol… I know I set myself up for this one.)

  • Okay, I skewed the Clinton/Hillary headline… Bill urges Hillary to run… where? Why?  What else has she done?!

  • LOL. Naaa, there’s nothing wrong with wanting a woman to win (comment deleted lol), so long as that woman beats any man or hermaphrodite (that was in case Janet Reno decided to run).  I don’t really care if they are green or spotted XX or XY so long as they have character, knowledge, wisdom and leadership/public service skills. I was a campus coordinator for Ambassador Alan Keyes’  campaign back in 2000.

You’re a lib, so you like Hillary, but not Elizabeth Dole, which is part of being true to your ideals.

I’m a conservative, so I like Elizabeth Dole or Kay Baily Hutchison or ambassador Jean Kilpatrick and think that Hill is bill x2 (which actually in a way, is a compliment to Hill).

  • hermaphrodite… BWUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

You finally managed to say something I can agree with. *snicker*

  • Actually, that was one of Janet Reno’s lifelong goals, to be President. My family knows the Reno’s; and while weird, she was the most straight-laced of her siblings…by a Loooooooong shot. lol. I need to shup up now

  • I hope they buy the kangaroo a new Armani suit to wear while he is accepting his award.  :smack!:

  • Ok… I just caught this on Braddock’s site…

    3rd: Tenacity, hush lol”

Tsk tsk… what was THAT all about??

     :scuse_me?:

  • You know I always have to give you a hard time, tenacity- it keeps life fun  :nanana: I think it had something to do with emode, not sure lol

  • I just wish I had time to read more of your blog, but got bogged down on the first page, you are a true blogger, you make this part of your life, oh, if I had the time…

  •  :nanana: back

  •  :waaahh: This is how I felt after reading the abortion pill article. Her poor father. He lost his daughter and his grandchild, and he only found out when it was too late. And he seemed like such an amazing person. Never did he say he was angry with her for getting pregnant, he just wanted her to come to him for help. But I understand what she went through. Sometimes there are matters you don’t want to tell your parents about. you don’t want to hear their harsh, angry words … you want to be able to fix the problem by yourself. It’s a horrible story.

  • I know it, Esther. One reason I support http://www.mercyministries.com. Regardless of a persons view of the theology behind this place, they are really helping girls in the exact same situation as this poor soul mentioned in the article, and getting them back up on their feet. That rocks the house in my world.

  • BlogBat, I can’t believe you said I inspired you.  ha!  Thanks for your sweet comments, too.  Take care and have a great weekend.  – KnoxvilleGirl

  • So what made you decide you wanted to put all these articles on your site?

  • Which ones…the ones I write or the junk I so often link to? I guess basically, I think its good that we all do our best to stay informed of what is going on so that we make the best decisions, particularly in the voting booth, but also in daily living. Also, because I love catching stuff that not very many have noticed and saying, “you know, this is MAJOR, hellooooooo” and junk like that. There is also the “any excuse to write” factor which really plays into the whole thing.

  • im glad you are feeling better, Knox. I hope all is swell

  • Are you a journalist?

  • I keep a journal, but I think that’s a journaler. With respect to the English language as a reasonable soul would understand it, a journalist is someone who hates journals. E.g. Racist, Sexist et al. Dan Rather is a Journalist.

  •  :2beers:

hey, yea i hope things get better thanks for posting…

  • Hooray for headlines, but I wish you would post another poem…

  • You must spend hours on this, so professional!

  • thanks for subscribing :)

  • I keep telling myself I need to read the news, and every time I visit your site, it hits me in the face that I still haven’t gotten around to reading the news.  Sheesh!  I should just stop being lazy and read the news!  Wow.  I sound redundant, but I think it’s a subconscious way of coercing myself into reading- that’s right- the news!!!

  • Hmmm… so a sexist is someone who hates sex??!

  • Happy Yom Kipppur!  Much peace!!!

  • Hey there!  It’s Amanda (saycheese_CHEESE).  I created a new site cause the orange was getting to me lol.  So this is my new site.  Peace.

  • Yeah.  I just realized I typed all of that it my old site name.  I meant to be writing from this one.  So THIS is my (Amanda’s) new site…

  •   takes a long time to comment .. the loading of your blog .,.  must be a heavy load :)

but worth the wait ;)   :lip_kiss:

  • Umm, been thinking. The UK has a state religion in every sense of the word, and less than 3percent of these Church Of England “believers” go to church. America has no state religion and their churches are full.

    Why?

  • What on EARTH provoked those kids to ‘surf’ on a subway train??!!

  • They work full time on a party boat? You know young boys, always falling for a knockout lol

  • heya this is a great blog. . like it! fun stuff but you so don’t need my comment! sheesh and i get excted over 5 on one post! ha! i feel lame :idunno: now..   nice of you to stop by mine ><>Janga

  •    the side by side i kind of just discovered haha. when you upload the pix.. the box that pops up gives you options..you can pick to have text wrap or not and to set the pic to the left or right and that is how i did it! yay!  cya! ><> Janga

  • I think you should suggest the Margaret Sanger book to the FeministUnite blog..they are on my SIR list if you cant find them :2beers:

  • wow, I believe i’ve seen that cop before…oh no, I’m sorry, I’m wrong…they all look like that! even the bike cops!

  • so politically rorect, cool.

    random xanga viewing.
