  • It has been a long week already, has anyone noticed this oddity? Blogbat noticed. I also noticed that someone stole my little summer vacation I was splendidly having last week. Now all of a sudden it is 10°F. I think I saw some snowflakes huddled together by my window to stay warm. I’m sure this doesn’t happen in California. The 10°F, I mean, not the flakes huddled outside someone’s window. I felt better however after winding up a chat on the phone with someone at an army base near Darmstadt, Germany, where they have been feeling the full force of winter for some time now.

Well how about the latest on Princess Di? Apparently Prince Chucky was feeling a bit embarrassed by her going hither and thither doing this and that quite publically, so he decided to rig her car so that he could see the princess di(e), according to a recently published report from the Mirror. Makes me wish they had the death penalty in England. If he is guilty, I’d like to see that Chuck roast. Okay, so moving on and away from any more BAD PUNS…

How about those pictures from Mars? (You know, that's real caramel.) I admit I am more than somewhat captivated by anything astronomy. These Mars pix are no exception. You can see more HERE at the NASA Mars site. Even sweeter because we showed up the utopians from across the pond. Not that I am ever competitive, you all should know me better than that (wink, wink). Those pictures really inspired me though. The whole time I was looking at those Martian pictures I was thinking Christmas. Yeah. You know, the marketing opportunities of selling Christmas trips to Mars with little green men on a little red planet. "Aww, take us to the cute widdle red and green planet, daddy!" Maybe NASA could make a few more robotic landers that would be programmed to paint all those rocks to look like silver bells. For the Adkins crowd, we could sell it as a way that “Now even you can weigh less for the holidays”. Could you imagine the sheer gravity of that??? Pure brilliance. Er, buoyance “…Oh, the weather outside is frightful…”

    Last day of summer (Sunday)

It has been a busy week already. Much going on at work, while at the same time began interviewing to do something else. I am restless. All of a sudden I have calls from the interested and I am stopping to consider. But considering anything, let alone my navel has been hard to do today. Just three and a half hours of sleep is not enough to set all the synapses firing as they should. And so I have been bumping into things all day.

Despite this lethargic day however, I was tired from staying up and catching up over the phone with one of my best friends I haven’t talked to…in days. No really we had lost touch a couple of years ago due in large part to our busy and chaotic lives, while she was in D.C. and Virginia, getting to play in one of the coolest backyards. A dear and irreplaceable sister I have known for a good chunk of my life, there was lots of yakking to be done. And so, I have no regrets about my sleep deprivation. However, shortly after posting this, I will be off to make amends to my slightly disgruntled bod by partaking of a proper dose of this eye shutting I keep hearing so much about.

And so, I bid you, the gentle reader the best Wednesday possible tomorrow and might even surprise everyone with some news-updates, if time permits.

  • Yeesh, it's the Monty Python syndrom again.  We went into summer which skipped fall and went directly into winter.  Bleh.

And yes, this week has seemed much longer than usual.  Bleh.
