Absolute power doesn't really exist... because no one is in absolute control of everything. (What an awful thought for the control-freak in me!!! LOL!) But, other than that, I totally agree with note #8.
I think that's why absolute power only truly exists with the Divine. Our lack of absolute knowledge about the things around us and ourselves demands we respect the sovereignty of others. :stickdance:

The human factor brings credibility to the saying that absolute power corrupts absolutely - because without the knowledge to which you refer, the quest for that power becomes greed (and usually the one pursuing the power does not want the responsibility that comes with it) and the power is (absolutely) mishandled creating chaos for anyone within it's reach.

Another example of the dangers of absolute power can be found in Europe: Don't play with the 220v jacks, yo.
